I do not have much personal experience with Yale’s Mental Health Services. However, I have seen how my close friends have been unfulfilled, unsatisfied, and underserved by Yale’s Mental Health and Counseling. In some cases, this inadequate care has caused people around me to leave Yale in order to properly heal. It is hard for me to see my friends struggle so deeply with mental health when Yale has facilities meant to address these struggles. While Yale provides many services to its students, Yale’s mental health and counseling is not up to par with many of these other services. If some people must leave Yale to receive proper care, the Yale administration is not providing necessary care for its students. Yale should do what it can to care for its students.
